The College of The Albemarle’s (COA) Academic Support Center (ASC) offers a variety of free academic support services for all COA students to promote academic excellence and student success. These services include on-campus and online Individual/Group Tutoring, walk-in and virtual access to the Writing Center located on the COA – Elizabeth City Campus, scheduled workshops, and 24/7 access to Tutor.com. The Academic Support Center is located on the Elizabeth City campus, in B-Building, 2nd floor, room B214a, and coordinates services to all campus locations. With an inviting atmosphere and friendly, professional staff, the Academic Support Center is here to help you succeed!
The Academic Support Center (ASC) is proud to announce the College has been awarded certification as a Level 1 certified tutor training program by the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Achieving certification means that ASC has met CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service, and evaluation as an integral part of their overall tutoring program. For more than thirty years CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs with almost 1,300 members and over 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.
